• The OAAP Fraudulent Security Controls Workgroup, co-chaired by ITS Business Systems Analyst Jill Hammitt, has approved the initial set of fraud detection controls which have been implemented in the system-wide application tool. Admissions staff at Highline and other colleges are now in the process of evaluating the effectiveness and accuracy of those tools and providing feedback to guide ongoing improvement.
  
• ITS recently worked with an outside assessor to complete an assessment of both our IT security and PCI (payment card infrastructure) stance. The reports from these assessments will inform us of actions to be taken to further improve our standing in both of these critical areas. While we are still evaluating the reports, preliminary results indicate there is some work to be done in remediating a few systems, improving some policies and procedures around payment card practices, and enhancing some of our training.
  
• ITS has launched several AV improvement projects to be completed over the summer, including Building 7, the Mt. Townsend meeting space in Building 8, and classrooms in Building 10. We look forward to these improved facilities being online for fall quarter.
