Area Report for Board of Trustees

Auxiliary Services

  • The Campus View student housing has officially opened to students for Winter Quarter 2019. As of the writing of this report, we have 13 student residents.
  • The Auxiliary Services and Public Safety staff conducted our first formal orientation to all student residents on January 7, 2019. The orientation included safety training as well as resident expectations.
  • We are in the process of recruiting for live-in Residence Hall Manager.

Facilities

  • Facilities is breaking ground for the Building 6 Plaza project. This is a project, funded partially by the student capital money, to build a covered roof in front of the Student Services building.

Finance & Budget

  • After over a year of testing, the Finance team will formally roll out several new and revised business forms including purchase requisition and travel. The new forms also incorporate accessible technology features to assist individuals with vision impairment.
  • We are pleased to announce the appointment of Kendra Ferrell as Fiscal Specialist. Kendra is moving from her current position of Cashier Lead.

Public Safety

  • Public Safety staff hosted the Washington State Senate Safety Committee to discuss safety and security at community and technical colleges.
  • During Fall Quarter 2018, the Department conducted 33 tests of our E-launch alert system to ensure emergency preparedness of our equipment.

Vice President for Administration

  • With the appointment of Francesca Fender to be Associate Director of Public Safety last November, I am still in the process of recruiting for an Executive Assistant.
