Area Report for Board of Trustees
Vice President for Administration
- Happy New Year 2021 to all Trustees! I hope that you have had a wonderful holiday season!
- Most of our Administrative Services team members, including myself, took the opportunity for some time off during the holiday break as well.
- All of us are looking forward to a much better new year with the glimmering hope for things to return to normal.
Facilities
- Facilities Department continues to provide support for all of our campus operations, including daily sanitization, mail delivery, and other infrastructure needs during the current working environment.
- Based on the current inventory, Facilities is in a good position to meet the PPE needs of campus during winter quarter.
- Facilities Department continues to support the on-campus testing site in partnership with CHI Franciscan and King County Public Health.
Finance & Budget
- The auditors for both the financial statement and accountability audits have started their planning. Audit entrance conference(s) are currently planned for mid January.
- The ctcLink project remains a primary focus of the Finance team as we prepare for Golive on February 8th.
- Budget and Grant Services has been working to close out the AANAPISI grant. In addition, we are establishing new accounts codes for other new and renewed SBDC agreements and contracts.
Public Safety and Emergency Management
- The Public Safety Department has the responsibility for contact tracing for the college, when a positive COVID-19 case is identified on campus. Our contact tracers have all completed the Johns Hopkins University COVID-19 Contact Tracing online course.
- Public Safety in partnership with King County Public Health and CHI Franciscan continues to operate the COVID-19 testing site at Highline College. The testing site is located in the South lot and will be open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. King County Public Health will be open on Sundays as well to begin providing vaccinations for front line medical workers and first responders.
Auxiliary Services
- The Bookstore continues to offer free shipping for books and other instructional materials in an effort to reduce the number of students coming on campus to visit the Bookstore. In addition, the Bookstore also partners with ITS to utilize the ITS drive through for student pick-up and drop-off as requested. .
- With the campus being closed through Winter Quarter, the Bookstore has recently donated all remaining stock of snacks and drinks from inventory to the Des Moines Food Bank.
