Public Safety and Emergency Management
- Public Safety completed building evacuation drills for all buildings, including instructional buildings during the month of May. The drills tested the building evacuation coordinators ability and knowledge to evacuate the building and guide students and staff safely to the assembly locations.
- David Menke and Derek Dean attended the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education in Portland, OR from May 28th to June 1st.
- The Associated Student Government at Highline College has voted to recommend the implementation of a new student transportation and safety fee. The proposed fee will be used to provide additional incentives for alternative transportation and to fund parking lot expansion and maintenance, as well as selected safety upgrades. Thanks to David Menke and Francesca Fender for working collaboratively with our student representatives on this very important initiative.
