Area Report for Board of Trustees

Goal 4: CULTURE AND CAPACITY – Become an anti-racist college through intentional development of employees, facilities, and systems that support student success and close equity gaps

All Managers should be wrapping up the performance evaluations and sending them into HR by the end of this month.

We have been providing anti-bias training for members of faculty screening committees. Our plan is to roll this out to the exempt staff this year as well. Our newest member Alex Racey has conducted his first solo payroll! We are proud of his growth at such a rapid rate and grateful for Cariko’s training and leardership to ensure proper coverage so that our payrolls will always be done on time!

In February, we welcomed Juli Hammond to our HR team. She is doing such a great job learning and even improving some of our processes. We are so excited to have her!

We have brought back HR/WPEA quarterly meetings that have been quite helpful in understanding the needs of our classified staff. The goal is to improve relations while addressing concerns for both Highline and our classified staff.
