- Study Abroad – Vietnam hosted our first virtual workshop on March 4, 2026, with 22 student participants from seven colleges in attendance. This is our biggest cohort of the program. Unfortunately, due to recent changes at SBCTC level affecting the Centers of Excellence (our key partners in this program), this will be our last Study Abroad – Vietnam program as a college consortium.
- International Student Programs (ISP) hosted our first Scholarship Award Ceremony on March 5, 2026. Ten students were awarded the Academic Excellence Scholarship of $2,000 each and two students were awarded the Graduate Honors Scholarship of $3,000 each. Unlike previous years, ISP has changed the scholarship application process from quarterly to annual.
- Public Safety attended an implicit bias training provided by the Vice President of Equity Diversity and Transformation. Staff completed an Intercultural Development Inventory assessment to gauge cultural competency. The training included real world case studies based off past events on campus to examine strategies and manage high-emotion situations. The goal of the training was to improve community trust and reduce bias during interactions.

Core Theme 4: CULTURE & CAPACITY, Promote a campus culture which fosters equity and inclusivity supporting employee growth and development, and institutional capacity and transformation
- Facilities is switching their work order request form to Megamations with a goal of streamlining and enhancing the work order request process for both users and facilities crew. The plan is to go live in mid-March after proof-of-concept testing is completed.
- Bidding for the storm and sewer project will take place in mid-May with work to begin in June. Project estimates are roughly $4M.
- The Department of Commerce has accepted the college’s Clean Buildings (CB) plan submitted June 28th 2025. The college is working with our energy services provider to obtain additional funding for energy efficiency.
- The College’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan was updated and officially adopted by Vice President Michael Pham. The plan will ensure that necessary and appropriate actions are taken to protect people and property from any threat or hazard, ultimately working to build a resilient college community.
FISCAL & BUDGET
- The Finance team is in the process of preparing financial statements to submit to the State Auditor’s Office by the April 1st deadline for the next round of audit.
- The FY26-27 budget planning process has begun. A campus-wide budget message was sent on March 4, 2026, to inform the campus community of the budget planning process as well to provide update on the state budget.
