Executive session Pertaining to Highline College Labor relations

Action items
a. 2021-23 Collective Bargaining Agreement between WPEA Classified Staff Union and Highline College
- Trustee Altmayer noted that he disagrees with an increase in time to attend union meetings and additional paid leave at a time of financial hardship.
Trustee Swenson moved, Trustee Mendoza seconded. One vote against, four votes in favor. Motion passed.
b. Renewal of the emergency order to repeal Highline College’s Title IX Policy and Procedure
Trustee Bowman moved, Trustee Swenson seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
c. Renewal of the emergency order to approve Model Supplemental Title IX Student Conduct Procedures
- Trustee Altmayer asked if the emergency rules can be extended for a longer period of time rather than the 120 days to see if new federal administration revokes the need for changes. ED Korst confirmed that 120 days is the maximum extension.
Trustee Mendoza moved, Trustee Altmayer seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Unscheduled business
Dr. Mosby expressed gratitude to the trustees for ratifying the WPEA contract.
Dr. Mosby recognized the massacre in Atlanta, GA that took the lives of our Asian community. He asked that our institution and society continue to act better and be better, and take the time to reach out to community members.
